Today's scriptures are taken from the following:
* Genesis 32:22-31
*2 Timothy 3:14-4:5.
* Psalm 121
* Luke 18:1-8
You can read the other bible scriptures on your own. We will now read and discuss the scripture from the book of Luke chapter 18 verses 1 to 8.
Jesus told his disciples a parable to teach them that they should always pray and never become discouraged. Jesus continued by saying that in a certain town, there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people. And there was a widow in that same town who kept coming to him and pleading for her rights, saying, help me against my opponents. For a long time the judge refused to act, but at last he said to himself, "Even though I dont fear God or respect people, yet because of all the troubles this widow is giving me, I will see to it that she gets her rights. If I don't she will keep on coming and finally wear me out!"
And the Lord continued, "Listen to what that corrupt judge said, Now, will God not judge in favor of his own people who cry to him day and night for help? Will he be slow to help them? I tell you,he will judge in their favor and do it quickly. But will the Son of Man find faith on earth when he comes?"
Bible Discussion
In this bible scripture we can see that the widow never gave up and kept on coming to the judge for help. But the Judge did not want to act because he does not fear God and respect people. But because he did not want the widow to keep on coming to him he finally helped her.
In the second paragraph, Jesus explains how God will react upon our requests, cry, plea etc..Jesus ended his statement in a Question form which requires and answer.
The moral of this bible scripture show us that we must never give up on praying. Praying is one way we request for God's attention. Through prayer we can get responses quickly from God. So if we pray day and night for help then surely God will help us in his own timing.
The bible clearly states that God quickly help people who cry to him day and night. But Jesus ends his parable with a question saying that 'Will the Son of Man find faith on earth when he comes?'
This question is up to individuals as a christian to answer. If Jesus comes today, will he find faith in us? Please ask yourself, am I ready? If Jesus comes today will he find faith in me?
If Jesus come back and finds faith in you, what a joy shall fill your heart.
God's word is True now and forever.
Amen
